About Me

I have been an academic and professional coach for over twenty-five years. I earned my BA from Columbia University in film and media studies and my MA from Columbia University, Teachers College, in organization and leadership. My career began in Princeton, New Jersey when I became a standardized test expert for a large, internationally-known test preparation company. My formal training prepared me not only to teach for the SAT math and English sections but also for the GMAT, the GRE, and the LSAT. I earned excellent performance ratings and became a director within six months.

After over five years of helping thousands of students prepare for the SATs and other tests, I went on to work for various Wall Street and Internet companies in training and organizational development, coaching entry-level to senior executives on management, leadership, conflict resolution, diversity, interviewing skills, public speaking, and executive function skills.

In 2001 my first child was born, and I quickly transitioned to a career in entertainment industry business management when my son was signed with Ford Models as an infant. I managed his successful 16-year career with over 200 bookings in print, tv, internet, commercials, and film. When my daughter was born in 2007, I managed her career until she opted out of show business and headed for the sports arena. During this time, I consulted with and coached dozens of parents and children on the realities and necessary strategies for success in the entertainment industry.

When my son was 11 years old, he turned his attention from acting to academics. With my full support, he worked less and studied more. By the time he reached high school, it was apparent that he had a viable shot at admission to the world’s most elite universities. I guided his education, service, and extracurriculars throughout high school and was pleased when he was accepted to several top-tier and ivy league schools. He graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering and is now in graduate school for robotics at an ivy league university where he is well-suited and thriving.

In 2014, I began working with students and parents on college counseling and essay coaching, focusing on personal, student-centered learning and the importance of finding one's edge. My gift is finding and extracting every student's best qualities and helping them communicate effectively to Admissions. My goal with every student is to keep the stress low and the results high.
